The Jost House Museum is located at 54 Charlotte Street, Sydney, Nova Scotia. It is a three-minute walk up the hill from the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion, taking either York Street or Amelia Street.
For an admission fee of $4.00 (CAD or USD), free for students, the staff of the Jost House will give you a fully guided tour throughout the museum starting in the 1780s themed basement, the kitchen of the house at the time. From there, you will move to the 1800s main floor, and then to a self-guided tour of the more modern early 1900s upstairs.

Bottles of water are sold at the front desk for $1 each, and Cape Breton Oat Cakes are sold at $3 for six or $5 for 12.

To those with walking disabilities, difficulty getting up and down our stairs, or limited to a wheelchair/mobility scooter, a virtual tour is available via recorded video at our front desk. Therefore you can sit back, relax, and enjoy the tour as is without leaving your seat.
